Eighteen year-old Jenny (Amanda Bynes) is ecstatic when she finds that her favourite rock star, Jason (Chris Carmack) is a guest at the tropical resort where she is working for the summer. After going overboard on a cruise ship the two end up on a nearby 'desert island' - actually just a stone's throw from the tropical resort.

Keen to hang out with her new best friend Jenny lets Jason believe that they are desperate castaways. Things get complicated when Jenny's rival Alexis (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) pretends to be shipwrecked too as they both hilariously compete for Jason's affections.
